"Fallen But Not Forgotten"
A Tribute to Our Fallen War Heroes and Their Families
We got news the other day
that an American hero had passed away.
Tears of love flow for our fallen heros,
never to walk on our Homeland again.
So young and full of life and hope.
No peace after war will ever replace them.
Their heart was convicted to lay down
their life for...their country, our freedom
and a home where the eagles soar.
Taps played and a 21-gun salute was fired,
all the more reason our flag flies higher and higher.
The sound will echo long in our minds,
and the gratitude we owe fovever realized.
Our fallen heroes were not taken in vain.
But for great conviction and cause they were slain!
America, remember to always praise their name.
To the families of our heroes, both yours and ours
roses and flags will adorn their final hour.
They laid down their burdens after the fight
and paid the supreme cost long into the night.
Fallen but not forgotten, we shall remember
from early January to late December.

"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
Originally written by Francis Bellamy in August 1892.
"under God" was added by President Eisenhower in 1954.
